'A kid again': Yale architects, Newburgh students dream big for Muchattoes Lake projects

Scholars at Horizons on the Hudson have been working on re-imaging land and lake space for Muchattoes Lake in the City of Newburgh. The scholars have been working with their teachers and community members through the Yale University's Day of Service and other sponsored activities with and the Department of Small Interventions, supported by the Horizons on the Hudson PTO. 

The Times Herald Record covered the story:

"Raymond Boyd, 6, walked up to a banner on a fence outside Horizons-on-the-Hudson Elementary, where he goes to school, and explained his drawing.

'That's a water slide. That's a bike. That's a dog. That's George,' he said.  George is his brother. He also drew his sister. In the picture, they had their arms in the air, sliding together down a big, blue slide into Muchattoes Lake.

Beside his drawing was another image. It was a digital depiction of the lake and a couple of triangular slides sitting on the water. 'Floating slides" was written in a short description beside the image.'
