Two Fostertown Scholars Honored with Triple "C" Award

Gia Rodriguez and Eden Bremmer, 4th grade scholars at Fostertown Elementary School were honored with the Triple "C" Award this week. The Triple "C" Award is an award from Attorney General Letitia James that recognizes the courage, character, and commitment of New York State’s outstanding students. For more than 20 years, the Office of the Attorney General has celebrated some of New York's more remarkable young people with the presentation of this award. 

In a letter to the recipients, Attorney General Letitia James wrote. "This year, whether you chose it or not, your generation has been cast in the role of trailblazer. From expanding the boundaries of online learning, to finding creative ways to connect and bond with your peers, to accepting the tremendous responsibility of keeping your family, friends, and communities safe by social distancing, you have already changed the world. There is no limit to what you will achieve next." 

On hand to celebrate this award were classmates and families, both in-person and virtually, as well as Fostertown principal, Mr. Joseph Duffy, assistant principal, Ms. Isabela Santiago, school counselor Mr. Jason Michalek, and the student's teacher, Ms. Jennee Coleman. 

During the presentation of the award, Ms. Santiago read the poem "Hope" by Emily Dickinson.
