Empire After-School Program Begins Soon
The Empire State After-School Program offers enrichment and academic opportunities for middle and high school students in an after school setting within the Newburgh Enlarged City School District.
The program offers scholars the opportunity to work with and talk to teachers and peers in a small group setting. The program provides opportunities for scholars to learn a new skill or engage in a new activity based on their interests. The program also provides academic enrichment and programs, activities, and services to enhance the growth and development of our scholars and families. The program focuses on the academic improvement, social and emotional learning, and the health and well-being of the community we serve.
It is available to scholars in grades 6 - 12 attending the following schools: Meadow Hill Global Explorations Magnet School, Temple Hill Academy, Heritage Middle School, South Middle School, Newburgh Free Academy Main, Newburgh Free Academy North, and Newburgh Free Academy West.
All schools will offer programs on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Traditional face-to-face programming offerings will be adapted to a virtual setting for the foreseeable future.
For the 2020 - 2021 school year, the Empire State After-School Program will offer two sessions:
★ Winter Session: Fully Virtual beginning approximately on February 25, 2021
★ Spring Session: TBD (virtual or in person) beginning approximately on April 6, 2021
