Central Hudson Highlights NECSD's Energy Performance Upgrades
Central Hudson Highlights NECSD's Energy Performance Upgrades
Approved by the New York State Education Department in March 2019, the Energy Performance Contract (EPC) project is nearly complete and provides the following benefits for the community as well as redirected funds for education as a direct result of these savings. Central Hudson highlighted this work to show that more than $900,000 in Central Hudson energy efficiency incentives help the Newburgh Enlarged City School District save $1.3 million in energy savings and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 60 percent, per fiscal year. The Newburgh Free Library on Grand Street, was once the most expensive building to run in the district. After converting to natural gas, it became the least expensive to run. Each building in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District has received energy performance updates. You can learn more about the NECSD Energy Performance Contract here.
