Important Reminder from NECSD
Yesterday afternoon, Governor Cuomo announced that Newburgh and New Windsor are on track to enter the Orange Zone if numbers do not decrease. Please continue practicing the 3Ws for mitigating the spread of COVID 19: Wear a Mask, Wash your hands, & Watch your distance. We each play an important part in keeping our community safe.
As a reminder, all schools in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District will transition to 100% remote learning for scholars beginning Monday, November 30, 2020 through Friday, January 15, 2021. This was a decision based on the strong recommendation of the Health Commissioner of Orange County who sent a memo on November 19, 2020 to all Orange County Schools urging districts to implement a "Holiday Pause." We are required to follow the science and recommendations of the medical experts most familiar with our district. This is only a temporary transition from our current in-person instructional model. We hope to transition back to in-person learning in the new year.
ATTENTION: Are your scholars or colleagues doing something great? Please contact the district Communications Team at communications@necsd.net. We’d love to visit your class or event and/or post your pictures and recap to highlight the amazing accomplishments throughout our district!
