Regents Examination Exemption Declination Form
Due to the public health crisis, COVID-19, all NYS Regents exams are cancelled for June and August. This means all students who are currently enrolled for Regents courses and/or have indicated intent to take a Regents exam in either June 2020 or August 2020 have been exempted from the graduation assessment requirements based upon successful course completion. If you wish to decline one or more exemptions that your child is eligible for, please find information below.
Regents Examination Exemption Declination form
For students with disabilities who have an Individualized Education Program (“IEP”) or other documentation in which the District recommended or planned for the Student’s return to school for the 2020-21 school year, the District will not confer a diploma based upon the aforementioned assessment exemptions until and unless you confirm in writing that you consent to such exemptions and to your student receiving a diploma. The District will hold the diplomas of such students until parents confirm in writing that they agree with the District’s
decision to grant the exemption(s) and confer the diploma or credential. Until such permission is received, the student will remain enrolled and is eligible to return to his/her educational program for the 202021 school year.
Except as otherwise explained herein, if your child is eligible to graduate with exemptions and you do not decline one or more of these prior to June 19, 2020, your son/daughter will be conferred their diploma or graduation credential on June 19, 2020.
