Looking for a Job or a Career Change: Join Us at the Newburgh Free Library Virtual Career Resources & Job Fair
On June 17, 2020, the Newburgh Free Library will be holding a Virtual Career Resources & Job Fair, where we will take you on a brief tour of our Career Smart @ the Library resources and share videos or contact information from local employers looking to hire now! Library resources found online at www.newburghlibrary.org include a Job and Career Guide, which offers a curated list of career development web sites, local job postings, contact information of local career centers and current recruitment or job fairs. Need to create or update your resume? You will also find our JobNow and Learning Express databases that assist job seekers with live resume or interview help, and give access to test preparation materials, interactive exams, and much more. A library card is needed to access these databases from home. Visit our web site for more information on obtaining a Newburgh Free Library digital card. You may also contact a librarian for a free resume review at bzambito@rcls.org.
The Library regularly offers computer classes to help you gain or improve on the skills needed in today’s job market. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, rather than hold in-person classes during the summer, we will offer MS Word, MS Excel, and Google Suite classes using the online ZOOM application. Check our e-calendar at www.newburghlibrary.org for dates and to register. In addition, you might make an appointment with a librarian for Tech Support or help with computer and Internet basics at 845-293-0950 or suescott@rcls.org.
We hold numerous programs at the Library that focus on career development, including one-on-one career coaching, career search strategies, resume writing workshops and more. Check our e-calendar for availability. Please note that current programs are being offered virtually. Check out our web site and Newburgh Free Library Facebook for updates.
