Newburgh’s Wendy Guerra going to the Mount!
“She lives and breathes soccer,” Doulin said. “She does awesome in school, but her second focus is definitely soccer. She gives 100 percent to everything she does.”
Even when she was off the field, she was leading her team, often standing next to Doulin on the sidelines directing her teammates in the game. He wouldn’t be surprised to see her coach sometime in the future.
When she gets to the Mount, she plans to study biology and physical therapy, a field that could keep her close to the game she loves after she graduates from the Mount.
The four-year starter and stabilizing force in the midfield for the Newburgh Free Academy girls’ soccer team is taking her game a few blocks east to Mount St. Mary College, where she will suit up as a member of the Knight’s women’s soccer team.
