Horizons-on-the-Hudson First Grade Scholars Use STEM and Math To Create 3-D Robots
Ms. DiCola’s first grade class has been learning about 3-Dimensional shapes. using STEM and Math literacy activities. Scholars worked hard in their GoMath lessons to learn about the attributes of 3-D shapes. Over three days, students were able to create and design their own 3-D robots! Supplies used were cereal boxes, toilet paper rolls, shapes and emoji beach balls! After creating their robots, they each wrote a narrative about their robots. It was an amazing experience for these 1st graders to do a STEM related activity. The silence in the room as they focused and designed, to the smiles and excitement seeing the finished product was truly worth it.
