NECSD Empire Drumline Travels to Albany Indoor Percussion Home Show
On Saturday, February 22, 2020, the Empire Drumline program traveled to Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School in Albany, NY, to perform in the inaugural Albany Indoor Percussion Home Show. Hosted by the Albany Indoor Percussion Ensemble, over 120 musicians played a multitude of percussion instruments throughout the day, including pitched bass, snare, tenor and timpani drums, along with cymbals, marimbas, xylophones, vibraphones, and electric piano.
Joining the Albany Indoor Percussion Ensemble were musicians from five other percussion performance groups: Avant Garde Alumni Drumline, Capital District Youth Pipe Band, The College of Saint Rose Percussion Ensemble, Mohonasen Percussion Theater, and our very own Newburgh Enlarged City School District Empire Drumline. The NECSD Empire Drumline is directed by Mr. Dion Placencia, assisted by Mr. Felix Robles, and facilitated by the Empire State After School Program Grant.
You can see them on Wednesday February 26th at 5pm at the Superintendent's Celebration of the Arts at NFA Main!
