Vails Gate Hosts Annual STEAM Night
Vails Gate STEAM Academy hosted their annual STEAM Night on Thursday, 11/21.
Families participated in a variety of engineering activities with their child. These engineering activities included building a chair out of newspapers that will hold a person for 5 seconds, designing a catapult to launch a ping pong ball into a bucket, building a tower out of spaghetti, building the tallest tower out of balloons, creating the longest paper chain possible out of 1 piece of construction paper, making a bridge with only index cards and straws that will hold the most weight, and making a glider out of straws and paper. The idea for this night is to get parents to work with their children and to help them understand a little more the kinds of challenges that will help promote critical thinking and problem solving skills.
