Local Author Sandy Bastien Visits GAMS
Local author, Sandy Bastien, visited with all GAMS scholars on Tuesday, November 12th to discuss her recently published book “Is it Saturday Yet?”
The book is about her family and son’s experience and excitement surrounding their Saturday’s spent at the Newburgh Armory Unity Center. Her son would regularly ask her “Is it Saturday yet?”
Sandy is a mom of 5, Volunteer instructor at the Armory where she teaches the “Dare to Be a Wild Reader” program during Saturday morning enrichment. She hopes the book will bring awareness about the amazing programs the Unity Center has to offer to our community and the importance of reading.
ATTENTION: Are your scholars or colleagues doing something great? Please contact the district Communications Team at communications@necsd.net. We’d love to visit your class or event and/or post your pictures and recap to highlight the amazing accomplishments throughout our district!
