South Middle School Scholars Video Chat with Textbook Illustrator
On Friday, October 25th, students in Mrs. Garcia's 6th grade Social Studies class at South Middle School video chatted with one of the illustrators of the series Everything You Need to Ace .... In One Big Fat Notebook. The 6th grade is currently using the World History version as their textbook this year. The students asked the illustrator of the book, Mr. Christopher Pearce questions and had a quick lesson on how to use a handful of shapes to draw cartoon characters. "The best part was hearing that he was just a regular boy who entered a drawing contest at 9 years old and later became a famous illustrator. It made me feel that I can be someone too!" replied one of the students. "That is what it is all about," responded Mrs. Garcia.
The skype session was set up with the assistance of Instructional Technology Facilitator (ITF) Mr. BJ Antonelli
