NFA West Scholars Read to Meadow Hill 1st Grade Scholars
High school scholars from Newburgh Free Academy West Campus volunteered to read to their younger peers. The high school scholars broke into pairs and each read a book. After reading the books, the younger Meadow Hill scholars demonstrated their learning by participating in a Thinking Map exercise with the high school scholars. Earlier in the week, the 1st graders read the traditional story of Three Little Pigs. The NFA West scholars read The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs! by A. Wolf. Using Thinking Maps, the 1st graders were able to tell the high school scholars what the story was about and compare the two stories.
NFA West scholars who participated in the event include:
Desreca Grant, 10th Grade
Aishah Alshaikh, 9th grade
Yoreli Loredo, 9th grade
Anais Brown, 9th grade
Katelyn Solis, 10th grade
Brian Wilson, 10th grade
Taylor Emilian, 10th grade
Zhane Cooper, 9th grade
