Meadow Hill Welcomes Fathers to “Dads University Day”
“Dads Take Your Child to School Day” is a statewide initiative designed to spotlight the importance of parental involvement in a child’s education. On October 18, 2019, Meadow Hill was proud to welcome over 400 fathers and father figures who joined this initiative. Throughout the morning fathers and their children engaged in various classroom learning activities. Fathers then had the opportunity to take a Thinking Maps workshop. Parents were able to see first-hand the benefits of using Thinking Maps to improve critical thinking skills by constructing a ‘Dad & Me Agree’ tree map contract. The contracts were a collaborative commitment between father and child to spend time engaging in meaningful learning experiences throughout the school year.
