NECSD Celebrates Pink Night in Honor of Those Who Have Battled Cancer
The Newburgh Enlarged City School District participated in a Pink Night celebration in honor of those who have battled cancer. Participants from several schools lined the track and marched during a pre-game ceremony.
The 2019 Pink Day Ceremony especially honored Mrs. Maritza Ramos, retired principal of Fostertown Elementary School who passed away just last year. Mrs. Ramos’ husband Jorge, daughters Lauren Ramos and Danielle Ramos-Holland and her husband, as well as her sisters, family, and friends were present to honor Mrs. Ramos and all those who have battled with cancer.
Mrs. Jonelle Santo, teacher at NFA Main and Mr. Robert Shust, assistant principal at NFA Main coordinated the Cancer Awareness and Tribute Program this year. Participants wore pink shirts designating their support for cancer research as well as those dealing with the deadly disease.
The Goldbacks prevailed over Washingtonville 27-7.
