K-12 Exceptional Learner ESYP Students Celebrate at the 5th Annual Mary Jo Viero Field Day
K-12 Exceptional Learner ESYP Students attended a special games themed field day on Friday, August 9th at New Windsor School. This exciting day is to celebrate the life of Mary Jo Viero, an Elementary School Teaching Assistant since 2002, who passed in October, 2014. The day was organized by Bernadette Saladino and the ESYP teachers. Bernadette, a longtime friend and co-worker of Mary Jo, were often referred to as ‘sisters’ during the summer program.
Mary Jo Viero is remembered as a happy, fun filled and positive teacher who was never afraid to get her hands dirty with the kids!!!! The kids loved her interaction with them as much as she loved interacting with them. She was friendly to everybody throughout the school.
Bernadette Saladino may be retiring this year, but she knows this celebration will be carried on by all of the wonderful and hardworking ESYP teachers so students can enjoy this special day.
