Heritage Families: Final Exam/End of Year Schedule
Dear Heritage Families,
It is hard to believe that the school year is almost to a close! Each year seems to go by so quickly. We have a lot to celebrate this year, most recently 63 students being inducted into the National Junior Honor Society and over 200 Grade 6 students being recognized on High Honor & Honor roll!
Yearbooks have arrived and pre-ordered books can be picked up this week. Remind your child to put their name in their yearbook. If you wish to purchase a yearbook, the cost is $22, payable via cash or a check written out to NECSD.
Our Grade 8 students will enjoy a Field Days as part of their end of year celebrations on Friday June 21, 2019. Thank you to our PTO, Assistant Principals and teachers who have organized and planned this event. Our Grade 8 Moving Up Ceremony will take place at 6:00 PM on Monday June 24, 2019 at the NFA Auditorium. Only those students who have passed Grade 8 may participate in the ceremony.
Class supply lists for the 2019-2020 school year will be posted on the Heritage School webpage by the end of the week. These supply lists are items needed/required by each grade level team. Additional items may be needed in September based on the team your scholar is assigned to.
As we plan for next year, please note that we will have Accelerated Art for grades 6 and 7, Accelerated Science, Social Studies and Math for Grade 7 and Honors Algebra 1 and Earth Science for Grade 8 students. Students will be available to participate in these courses based on current grades and teacher recommendation. Summer School is available for all grade levels as well as enrichment courses. If interested, please look for information on the District website.
You will find attached information and changes to the last two weeks of school. Students who are not taking a Regents exam, do not report to school on those days (6/19, 6/20 and 6/24/19). If your child is taking a Regents exam, you may provide transportation or they can ride the bus. For the PM Regents bus run, students are to arrive at their bus stop by 10:15. If you have any specific questions regarding your child’s bus, please contact transportation at 845-568-6833.
We thank you for your continued support and work with us to support our scholars in their academics, behavior and growth into adolescence. We wish everyone an enjoyable summer and we look forward to welcoming back our students in the fall. We also wish much success to our Grade 8 students who are moving on to more exciting adventures at NFA.
Sincerely,
Lynnette Brunger
