NFA West Hosts International Women’s Day Celebration
NFA West hosted International Women’s Day Celebration. Each advisory selected a female-centered topic to teach their peers. Students developed skits, lessons, podcasts, news broadcasts, and more to creatively teach these important topics. The event was hosted by NFA seniors Tige Collins and Anthony Barrett.
There was a panel of judges to score each group and the winners of the competition received a prize for their advisory. The panel of judges was selected to grade each advisory on their creativity, performance, and content.
The event brought the opportunity for the students to hear and learn from their peers about the stories of many great women who were not only revolutionary for their times, but impactful leaders of change that affect us today.
Mr. Joe’s advisory presented about Catherine the Great.
Ms. Sabrina’s advisory presented about the Seneca Falls Convention.
Dr. Shewpreshad’s advisory presented about the women from the Abolitionist Movement.
Mr. Lamar’s group presented about Florence Nightingale and her role in the Crimean War.
Ms. Nina’s advisory presented about the Women’s Christian Temperance Union.
Ms. Jessica’s advisory presented about Jane Addams and the Hull House.
Ms. Kylie’s advisory presented about Women’s Suffrage. Ms. Jill’s advisory presented about modern feminism.
