Heritage Middle School Scholars Learn About WWI Re-enactment
On Friday, February 22nd, Mr. Mario Acosta from Vails Gate Elementary visited Mr. Marino's 8th grade Social Studies at Heritage Middle School for an awesome day of World War I information and stories. Mr. Acosta visited France over the summer and had a ton of pictures to share with the classes about his experience and all of the WWI battlefields he visited. Mr. Acosta, in a full WWI American uniform, showed the students various helmets, trench tools, and gas masks. The students even shared a typical trench warfare meal together, Spam and crackers.
"It's one of my favorite days of the school year", said Mr. Marino. "They loved it!"
