Gardnertown Leadership Academy Hosts 4th Annual Student Lighthouse Ceremony
Gardnertown Leadership Academy Held their 4th Annual Lighthouse Ceremony for 5th Grade Students inducted to Represent the Student Lighthouse.
The council is inducted with a ceremony, where they invite family members and members of the school community. During the ceremony, they demonstrate their understanding of the seven habits and take a pledge to be effective SLT leaders and council members. The SLT focuses on implementing and modeling the use of the seven habits (The Leader in Me - Covey) and has been modified to more adequately support the LIM values. It's purpose is to support leadership, character development and to model the seven habits for the rest of the school population.
The Gardnertown Leadership Academy Student Lighthouse Team is comprised of 5 action teams: the council team, community team, safety team, news team and events team.
The student council team is comprised of 5th grade leaders. There are 14 council members, 3 being elected members as president, vice president and secretary and 11 delegates who collaborate with the other teams and take notes during meetings that they can then bring back to the council.
