Heritage and South Middle School Math Teams Compete in Mid-Hudson Junior Math League Playoffs

The Heritage Middle School and South Middle School Math Teams competed in the Mid-Hudson Junior Math League Playoffs in Goshen earlier this month. The competition consists of four different sections.

Section A consists of:

Heritage Middle School (contains 3 teams)

South Middle School (contains 3 teams)

Valley Central (contains 3 teams)

Wallkill Middle (contains 2 teams)

Heritage Middle School - A finished first in the section (Section A) and almost came in third place after four rounds of tie breakers.

South Middle School’s Eric Zheng, a 7^th grade scholar received two individual awards.  He had the most points for questions participated in in the entire league of all four sections.

Eric also received the highest percentage correct answers in section A, with 76% correct. 

Heritage Middle School – A Math team members:

Anthony Argueta (7th) - answered 58% of the questions correct during the season 

Jessica Fendt (7th) - answered 67% of questions correct during the season 

Anakin Landolfa (7th) - answered 67% of questions correct during the season 

Anaya Lark (7th)

South Middle School – A Math Team members: 

Rylee Merli (8th) - answered 50% of her questions correct during the season 

Walesky Nowak (7th)

The Heritage Middle School Math Team is coached by Ms. Rachel Gamma. The South Middle School Math Team is coached by Ms. Marisol Vasquez.
