NFA Principal Honored with Annual Responsible 100 Award
Mr. Kevin Rothman, house principal for NFA P-TECH (formerly Excelsior Academy) was honored on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 as part of City & State’s The Responsible 100 Award at SONY Hall in Manhattan. Mr. Rothman was included in the Education category. Mr. Rothman is the only person who represents a public high school to receive the award.
Mr. Rothman is currently the house principal for NFA P-TECH which graduated 17 scholars with both their high school diploma and their associate’s degree from SUNY Orange from the inaugural class of NFA P-TECH (formerly Excelsior Academy). NFA P-TECH has a partnership with IBM and SUNY Orange to provide education and real-world opportunities in the areas of programming and cyber security free of charge to our scholars. Mr. Rothman is also an alumnus of Newburgh Free Academy.
Mr. Rothman was joined by his wife, two children, and family as well as Program Manager for Education at IBM Danille Jager and fellow award winner Jennifer Ryan Crozier, President, IBM Foundation, and Vice President, IBM Corporate Citizenship.
