Horizons-on-the-Hudson Inducts 18 to National Elementary Honor Society
Horizons-on-the-Hudson hosted their National Elementary Honor Society induction ceremony and breakfast with family on October 31st for 18 Fourth & Fifth Graders. Previously inducted students, who are now NEHS School Officers, gave individual speeches about the 4 pillars of NEHS: Scholarship – Giovanni DeLeon-President, Responsibility – Peter Oates-Vice President, Service – Alysson Lemus-Secretary, and Leadership – Jasmine Pinkey- Treasurer. HOH NEHS Advisors are: Ms. Hoffman and Ms. Bonn.
Congratulations to the new NEHS inductees: Fourth Grade: Raven Borrebach, Isabella Cantillo, Gustavo Cartagena Laureano, Arell Carthens, Leila Hamilton, Ayden Harrison, Miley Leger, Alexander Martinez, Odin Pawlson, Kassidy Rivera, Rahama Tassme. Fifth Grade: Joshua Bonilla, Hunter Green, Amani Jackson, Sacha Lewis Araujo, Johan Lopez Santa, David Nevarez, and Arianna Reddiconto.
The Horizons chapter of the NEHS is now in its 10th year and contributes to the school and community in a variety of ways, including a monthly food drive to benefit the pantry at St. George's Episcopal Church on Grand Street and a blood drive in February.
