Balmville Hosts Family Literacy Superhero Night
The most important indicator for a child's success in school is family involvement. In order to work toward this, Balmville School hosted a Family Literacy Superhero Night on October 18, 2018. The purpose of this event was to communicate to parents some of the ways they can support reading at home. Mr. Dottin, the school principal, was the guest reader. After the read aloud, the families had the opportunity to visit over 20 different literacy centers and speak with the teachers who were stationed at each activity. At the end of the evening, each child in attendance was given a book to take home and the families received a resource packet to assist them with reading at home.
