Project Valentine/Valentines for Veterans
Two local legislators are promoting Valentines for two very special groups of people. Read below to learn how your scholar can participate!
Valentines for Veterans - Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney
We are pleased to announce that Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney will once again be hosting his annual “Valentines for Veterans” program. He is encouraging schools, community organizations and individuals, throughout the 18th Congressional District, to create a Valentine’s Day greeting card that will be distributed to local veterans.
Last year, we delivered hundreds of valentines to veterans at the Castle Point VA Hospital in Wappingers Falls and additional locations around the district. Now more than ever, it is important for us to come together and celebrate our veterans’ service to our country. Many have been separated from families and friends during this unconventional time and a simple friendly greeting goes a long way.
Valentine’s Day greetings may be mailed or dropped off to the Congressman’s District office at 123 Grand Street in Newburgh, between the hours of 9:00AM and 5:00PM, Monday to Friday, through February 9th, 2022. If you need additional information about the “Valentines for Veterans” program, please contact our District office at 845-561-1259.
We sincerely thank you for your participation in this meaningful program.
Project Valentine - Senator James Skoufis
During this time of continued isolation, our older adults could use a little extra love. Senator Skoufis is inviting people of all ages to get creative and make or donate valentines cards, personalized with messages and decorations, that he will deliver to local long-term adult care facilities.
Valentines cards must be submitted to Senator Skoufis' district office by Tuesday, February 8th to make the delivery to the elderly in our community.
Cards can be dropped off Senator Skoufis' office (mail slot to the left of door, no appointment for drop off needed) or they can be mailed to:
